The WELL Health-Safety Rating recognises efforts to manage critical health and safety issues in shared spaces

Dubai, Nov 15, 2021: The International WELL Building Institute (IWBI) has recognised the efforts of LEAMS Education with its WELL Health-Safety rating for creating a favourable learning environment across all its five schools in Dubai.

A privately held group of K-12 schools and pre-KG nurseries in the UAE, LEAMS Education’s five campuses include The Apple International Primary School, The Apple International Secondary School, The Indian Academy – Dubai, The Apple International Community School and The Oxford School.

As per a statement issued by LEAMS, it is the first education group in Dubai to be awarded with the WELL Health-Safety rating seal.

Nabil Lahir, CEO, LEAMS Education, says “We strongly feel that the Well Health-Safety rating seal will soon become a norm in the education industry and will be synonymous with international standards of safety and wellbeing.”

The WELL Health-Safety Rating provides a centralised source to validate efforts of operators and leverages insights drawn from the IWBI Task Force on COVID-19 in addition to guidance on the spread of COVID-19 and other respiratory infections developed by the World Health Organization (WHO), prevention centers and other emergency management agencies.

LEAMS was awarded the WELL Health-Safety rating following the successful evaluation by GBCI to confirm it has met the specific requirements.

The WELL Health-Safety rating recognises efforts to manage critical health and safety issues in shared spaces. It looks at air and water quality management, lighting, cleaning and sanitation procedures, ventilation, emergency preparedness, health service resources, operational policies and maintenance protocols to ensure that education facilities are better equipped, prioritising the long-term health and safety of students, staff, visitors.
