Private schools across Dubai and Abu Dhabi will follow the new working week in line with the recent UAE Government decision
Dubai, Dec 07, 2021: As the UAE changes the weekend from Friday, Saturday to Saturday, Sunday starting January 1, 2022, all private schools in Dubai and Abu Dhabi will transition to the new weekend.
In an announcement, the Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA) said that all private schools will implement revised timings as the government has updated the new timings for public sector employees across the country.

Similarly, The Department of Education and Knowledge in Abu Dhabi (ADEK) has announced that all private schools in Abu Dhabi will follow the new working days announced by the government of Abu Dhabi.
The new working school days will be from Monday to Thursday full day and Friday will be a half day. Work timings will be from 7:30 am to 12:00 pm. Weekends will be Saturdays and Sundays starting from January 1, 2022.
Starting January 2022, Abu Dhabi Private & Charter Schools will follow the new working days schedule announced by the Government of Abu Dhabi.
School days: Monday – Thursday (Full day), Friday (Half day)
Weekends: Saturday – Sunday
