The termination will happen at the conclusion of the current academic year

Kuwait, March 16, 2023: The contracts of 1,815 male and female teachers, as well as 209 expatriate heads of departments, will be terminated at the conclusion of the current academic year. The announcement was made by Ahmed Al-Wahida, the official spokesperson for the Ministry of Education of Kuwait.

This decision aligns with the government’s objectives and the state’s plan to implement the policy of replacing foreign workers with Kuwaitis, in accordance with Article 26 of the Kuwaiti constitution. This decision is also in accordance with Civil Service Council Resolution No. 11 of 2017, which outlines the regulations and procedures of ‘Kuwaitization’ of government positions.
