Qatar to host Arab Education Ministers Conference

Doha, Qatar:  The 14th session of the Conference of Arab Education Ministers is to be held in Qatar. Key ministerial officials and experts from the education sector in the region will deliberate on key policy issues concerning the sector during the three-day event.

The three-day event is being organised to enable the participants to exchange expertise and experiences, discuss challenges, policies, curricula and infrastructure of educational systems, and support the process of digital transformation.

Key issues to be deliberated include ways to provide comprehensive and sustainable education for all and achieve justice in access to high-quality educational opportunities, especially regarding integrating people with disabilities into the education system.

The event will also focus on digital transformation and the use of technology to enhance and develop education as well as support research and innovation.

The event also aims to empower teachers and help develop their capabilities to achieve the highest levels of efficiency in the educational process.

Starting on January 5, the event will be attended by the education ministers in Arab countries, representatives of relevant international and regional organisations, and education experts and specialists.

The event is organised by the Arab League Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organisation (ALECSO) in partnership with the Ministry of Education and Higher Education and the Qatar National Commission for Education, Culture and Science, under the theme ‘Comprehensive education and empowering teachers: a strategic vision for education in the Arab world’.

The conference is held in line with the resolution of the 13th ALECSO general conference, which was held in May 2023 in Rabat, Morocco.
